Friday recap!

Conferences went very well. Valynn got straight A's. One A- and one A+. The teacher is very impressed with her reading, she is absolutely amazed as the speed, accuracy, and comprehension that Valynn possesses. Valynn needs to work on slowing down and writing neater when doing her math so that she doesn't make mistakes because she knows what she's doing. They do some timed reading in her class and it's in groups and the other students comment about her reading so fast. The PE teacher mentioned how Valynn has came out of her shell this year. She is getting more vocal which is good and her class is a great group of girls, that get along well, there is no excluding of others.

Mason is doing very well considering he has missed 13 days of school. He is the top in his class in reading and the teacher will be sending home some enrichment math for him to work on. The high school principal and the K-1 principal both talked with the teacher about the number of days he's missed (the K-1 classes are in the high school so the HS principal was present when the attendance sheets were being printed out, he's also lives in the subdivision). I was wondering why I hadn't received a call from a principal about the number of days he's missed, it's nice to know they are on top of it.

Last night we took the kids to the Merry Not So Scary Halloween at Wildlife Prairie State Park. The kids had a great time. We went through a troll bridge, through a Haunted House, a ghostly train ride, and trick or treating at 12 "houses" and well as down the big slide.

We came home and celebrated Mark's birthday. He insisted on having all the candles on his pumpkin bars. After "cake" we watched a movie.

We woke up to rain this morning so we're working inside today. Mark is putting a new door on a bathroom and the kids and I cleaned the game closet.

Can someone teach Kyra and Kyleigh a new knock knock joke? It's cute but after so many times it can wear on you.
