Never a dull moment

So to what everyone is wondering. Mark is still limping around. On Monday he was officially diagnosed with a torn ACL and a possible meniscus tear. He saw the surgeon on Tuesday and started physical therapy on Wednesday. He needs to be able to straighten his leg and have the swelling down before they will do surgery. Right now it's looking like his surgery will be the beginning of June. Just not the second week of June because we have vacation bible school that week that I'm in charge of.

Valynn is still enjoying volleyball. She has two games left. Today she had a field trip to Bishop Hill, a Historical Swedish colony. She LOVED it. School is winding down, next week is their last full week. She's going to the local one room school house and museum one day next week.

Mason has been extremely busy. He ended up joining a baseball team because one of the coaches asked. Two weeks ago the soccer game was cancelled because of rain. Last Saturday he scored three goals and they won their first game of the season. Sunday's game was cancelled so tomorrow should be the last soccer game of the year. Mason had his class field trip to the zoo today. He had a good time and got a behind the scenes look. Mason also had his second first Communion at St. Jude on May 5th. He even got up in front of about 400 people to read a section of the prayers.

Kyra's last day of preschool was on May 4th. Today Kyra had her preschool trip to the zoo. Yes, I got to attend two field trips on the same day at the same place. Last Saturday Kyra scored two goals in her soccer game. I talked to her teacher today to ask if she's ready for another two years of having a Rinkel for the past seven years. Miss Angie said she would gladly have a Rinkel for another 10 years because they are so well behaved.

Kyleigh got to attend the zoo today for Mason and Kyra's field trip. Last week Kyleigh had her field trip. She say and did plays at the Apostolic Christian Nursing Home. I videos the program and hope to get it uploaded, one day. She did a great job, although Mark and I joke that she is typecast because she always has to be the momma or the Grandma since she's the only girl in her class.

What do you think of this contraption Valynn made. Nothing dangerous about that right?


Last weekend we had a wonderful surprise. Grandma and Grandpa Larson came down for the weekend to visit. The kids loved having them watch their soccer games. Valynn was disappointed because they didn't get to see her play volleyball since we had to miss the game for Mason's First Communion. Sunday afternoon we had some friends over for a couple of drinks and then went out to eat at a Japanese Restaurant for Mason's first communion.
