We walked out of conferences extremely proud parents.
Mason is doing very well. He is currently reading at a 4th Grade level. We struggle getting him to read at home but we can relax because he reads during his free time at school. He's very helpful with the other students and is patient working with student who need some help. Last month he took the NWEA test, it's a computer based test where if they get a question correct the difficulty increases. He scored in the 85-88 percentile in reading, math and language arts.
The first thing Valynn's teacher said when we sat down for her conference is "I can't wait to see what she does in high school". Valynn scored in the 97-99 percentile on the NWEA test in math, reading, and language arts. Valynn is doing well in all her classes.
We don't have conferences for Kyra or Kyleigh unless the teacher has some concerns. There are no concerns with them, Kyra is reading very well and Kyleigh is starting to recognize some words.
Things are busy here. On the 25th Mark and Mason collected food for the Canathon with Boy Scouts. Monday was piano lessons and Biddy Ball for Valynn. Tuesday was Storytime and Valynn's first volleyball practice. I'm coaching again this year. Tonight was CCD and our Home Owners Association meeting. Tomorrow night is the PTO Turkey Noodle Dinner, I'm working a shift, taking dessert, and Valynn will be playing basketball. Friday we have soccer practice and Mason is having two friends spend the night. Saturday is Valynn first volleyball game and Sunday is Kyra and Mason's first soccer games.
We are hoping to get a few things planted in the garden tomorrow. We've been picking asparagus for a few days now. The kids get excited to have asparagus for supper.
Here is what the kids have been up to. Yes, it made us nervous but we let them test their abilities. Mason and Valynn even decided to roll it down the hill. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
