Time flies when you're having fun!

On Sunday the 26th the kids sang in church and did a program from VBS. I forgot to take pictures because I was too busy. I started the kids practicing their program, I read in church, I participated in the VBS program, Valynn played piano in church and received a bible. After church we went to the Peoria Chiefs game. Here are a few pictures of the activities at the game.

On the 28th we went to Wildlife Prairie State Park. It was HOT but the kids enjoyed it.

The second picture from the bottom is Kyleigh at the beginning of the train ride and the bottom picture is Kyleigh at the end of the train ride. She was tired from hiking all morning.

Mason played for the Minors last week. He got a couple of hits but never made it to first base. In the last game he realized that he didn't have to swing and he would get walked so he did score a couple of runs. This weekend he has his last two games and then he's done with baseball for the year.

On Saturday the 2nd Mason went to a birthday party and then we took the kids to see CARS 2. It's hard to believe that it was 4 years ago when we took Mason to see CARS because he was potty trained. We enjoyed the show. On Sunday we went to church and then after doing some work around the house and yard we had a few drinks with the neighbors, went out to eat, and then went to the fireworks in Wyoming. When we got home all six of us slept in the tent. How did that go you might be wondering..... it was crowded, it was hot, Mark and I had our feet hanging off the end of the air mattress because we were sleeping on it sideways so that four of us would fit which also means we were kicked during the night, we were attacked a few times by the roaming cat, Addy. She even climbed on top once. So no one slept the greatest but the kids had a blast. On the 4th we had a potluck with our neighbors and their family. The kids went swimming in the lake and we got to take a boat ride. Kyra and Kyleigh slept on the way to and from Oak Run. That evening we went to the Johnson's for supper and the kids played until we went down the road for fireworks.

On Tuesday we took Buttons to the vet, he had hurt his eye last week and it hadn't healed. He has severe trauma to the eye, the vet doesn't think he'll be able to see out of it, our hope is to save the eye. We go back on Monday for a recheck. Mason had a doctor's appointment on Monday as well, he is doing good, we go back in 6 weeks and then we will try adding potatoes to his diet at that time. Mark has one last online post to make for his summer class and then he is done. Tuesday night I slept in the tent with the kids. Last night Mark took his turn. Neither night did the parents sleep well but the kids have been. I think tonight we'll be back in the house since it's supposed to rain but the kids want to sleep outside again so we'll probably do that as long as the weather is nice.

Have a great weekend!
